Advantages of Oil Palm Trunks (OPT) Compared to other (plantation) species

  • No branches / knots in the wood of OPT
  • Almost straight fiber direction along the trunk
  • Isotropic (uniform) wood structure and properties along the trunk diameter (no year rings like wood), therefore no warping of boards during drying and later use
  • Straight trunks, good trunk shape, low taper, resulting in high recovery rates in sawmilling
  • High yield and uniform properties of the lumber and the finished products

A one-layer edge glued solid wood panel with a planned and sanded surface made with No Added Formaldehyde (NAF)

EkoPalma Blockboards

Made from parallel, rectangular-section, bonded palm wood strips; sandwiched between variety of facing thin materials such as MDF, Plywood, or Veneers

EkoPalma 3-Layer Panels

Solid wood panel with crosswiselayers can be overlaid with decorative (or non-decorative) veneer, plywood, MDF/HDF, formica or any other load bearing (high stress/strain) element, lamination can also be for waterresistance or for mechanical wearprotection.
